Advanced Technological Institute, Jaffna (ATI-Jaffna) is one of the 11 institutes managed by SLIATE. The institute has been inaugurated in Jaffna peninsula in 1996. The main vision of the institute is to become the center of excellence in technological education in Northern Province. At present there are eight Higher National Diploma programmers including, Higher National Diploma in Engineering(civil, electrical & quantity surveying), Higher National Diploma in Management, Higher National Diploma in Accountancy, Higher National Diploma in English, Higher National diploma in Information Technology and Higher National Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management.

These threats and harassment can take many different forms: ragging, sexual harassment, bullying, sexual or gender based violence, threats and intimidation. The Online Complaints Mechanism, is a new initiative of our Institute to have your complaints about ragging at our Intitule.
Director's Message
It gives me great pleasure to complete two year after launching a website for Advanced Technological Institute, Jaffna (ATI-JAFFNA, SLIATE-Jaffna). From 2018, it provides the next level communication services to the world. It helps to reach a student within a fraction of second and able to observe his/her response on line real time scenarios.
ATI-JAFFNA is one of nineteen Government Technological Educational Institutes for providing the technological skill to the students who completed ordinary level (O/L) and advanced level (A/L) examinations in Sri Lanka. It was the one & only one institution in Northern Province earlier. But, after the establishment of ATI-Vavuniya and ATI-Mannar, it focuses only on Jaffna and neighboring Districts for some courses like HNDA, HNDM, HNDE, HNDIT& HNDTHM.
Some courses like HNDCE, HNDEE, and HNDQS must be benefited to the nation. Because of Students are selected from all parts of Sri Lanka.
Presently ATI-Jaffna is offering eight courses mentioned above in full time and part time basis for A/L completers and workers respectively. Age limit is below twenty-three years for full time courses and no age limit for part time courses.
Academics, non-academics and academic supporters are the real strength of ATI-Jaffna. I take this opportunity to appreciate their contentment services to develop our institute and nations.
The website contains all the information and articles in English and Tamil languages in general. Therefore, most of the readers could be read it in this region. In near future, articles will be published on Sinhala language also for language balance.
I take this opportunity to congratulate all those who got involved in various activities to develop the website for ATI-Jaffna.

Advices for Sri Lankan Students from high risk area of on-going Corona virus transmission
· Corona virus disease (2019-nCoV) is an acute respiratory tract infection.
· It is spread through respiratory secretions (sputum, respiratory droplets) and contaminated fomites (objects or materials which are likely to carry infective agents such as clothes , utensils and furniture)
· Symptoms of Corona virus disease are fever, runny nose, sore throat, cough and difficulty in breathing.
· Some people are at high risk of developing complications. [elderly people and people with chronic diseases in lung, heart, metabolic, renal, liver or neurological diseases]
· Symptoms develop from 2 days to 10 days after entry of virus into the human body.
· Persons infected with virus but yet are asymptomatic (not showing any symptoms) can spread the disease for a few days prior to appearance of symptoms.
· Wear a surgical face mask to prevent spread of disease to others.

HNDA
The HNDA programme is the first professional accounting course introduced in Sri Lanka. It was started in 1943 as the National Diploma in Accountancy with the aim of detecting and preventing frauds, errors and malpractices in Ceylon Tea Estates and Ceylon Railway.
HNDM
At the completion of the program the student will be expected to have Gained knowledge of a broad range of relevant business-related academic discipline AND Acquired skills related to the following core competencies on:
HND in English
Higher National Diploma in English is being conducted as full time and part time with the duration of 2 ½ years and 2 years respectively.The full time course has 2 year course work and 06 months implant training in specialized fields where as the part time course has 2 years course work only.
HNDIT
The Higher National Diploma in Information Technology (HNDIT) program at the Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education (SLIATE) was developed and commenced in the year 2000 with the objective of producing the middle level IT professional required for the new millennium.
Engineering
The Higher National Diploma Program in Engineering (HNDE) serves to convert the school leavers with specialized mathematical knowledge to middle level technologists who possess relevant Engineering capabilities. Therefore, the program is intended to provide a clear and adequate understanding about Engineering principles, practical applications and emerging necessities of changes and creative innovations in the specific area/field to move with time.
Tourism and Hospitality
This programme will train students at basic levels in the fast-developing tourism and hotel industry. It is suitable for schools leavers who are interested in a career in tourism and hotel industry, and others who are already employed in the industry..
